Finding customer pain points

PFC was born out of the fact that conventional diode rectifier circuits cause disturbances to the power grid and waste the capacity of the grid by reducing power. To solve this problem, PFC was introduced.

IGBTs and FRDs are known to be the core components of PFC circuits. IGBTs provided by traditional device vendors suffer from high conduction loss, low input impedance, mismatch of switching speeds for customer applications, and easy to ignite in harsh environments with small appliance pitches. FRDs suffer from the following problems: slow recovery time, low current capability, large forward voltage drop, and large reverse leakage.


Solution

In order to solve the customer's problems, we have joined hands with the original power device team to do special development for the pain points of customer's application scenarios.

- Adopting advanced silicon epitaxial planar process.

- The advanced silicon epitaxial planar process is adopted, and the process parameters and graphic structure are carefully designed, which makes this series of products have lower forward voltage drop and ultra-fast reverse recovery time.

- Precise epitaxial doping control, advanced planar junction termination protection structure and platinum doping to control the lifetime of the oligon ensures that the product has the best overall parameters, high durability and reliability indicators.

- IGBTs are fabricated using the third-generation FieldStop III process, resulting in lower conduction and switching losses.

- Customized form factor package sizes improve device electrical spacing.
